My Grandfather, Willard Castle, born May 24, 1910  in Johnson Co Kentucky and died February 15, 2001, he was the son of Harrison Castle and Rosetta VanHoose. He went to college at Caney, Kentucky to become a Teacher but when he found out how much talking he would have to do he decided to go into the coal mines. He was a General Mine Foreman for Elkhorn Coal Corp.Floyd Co., Kentucky for many years, he was also the Mayor of Wayland Floyd Co., Kentucky in the late1930's and early 1940's where he and my grandmother Marie made their home after they were wed. They later moved to McVeigh, Pond Creek, Pike Co Kentucky where he worked for Eastern Coal Corp. until his retirement.My Grandmother, Marie Daniels, born April 27, 1914 in Olive Hill, Kentucky and died Oct 29, 1985. She was the daughter of Richard Lloyd Daniels and Luella Heffner. Marie loved debates and  taught school as a Sub Teacher, she spent countless hours donating her time for the Missionary Society.  My Grandparents were very special people in mine, my sister and two brothers lifes, they raised us for seven years and continued to be a very important part of all our lives.They are very dearly missed.This pic was taken in 1934.

                         They won the debates three years in a row!

    he was President of the Lions Club and the Mayor of Wayland
