Local Chapter Sends Clothing to Be Distributed Among Sufferers in Kentucky Hills

Contributions received yesterday toward New York's quota of $1,500,000 in the Red Cross drive for $10,000,000 for the relief of sufferers from last summer's drought included $2,500 from Mr. & Mrs. Harry Harkness Flagler, $1,000 from James Speyer,
$500.00 from Edwin Thorne and $250.00 each from Mrs. Phoebe K. Thorne, Ethel K. Gurney and Thomas N. Gurney.

The shipment of 4,900 garments to Johnson County chapter of the Red Cross at Paintsville, Ky., was announced by General James G. Harbord, chairman of the New York chapter, who said that warm clothing, particularly for children, is urgently needed throughout the drought stricken regions.
