Cincinnati, Tuesday, November 12, 1861

Gen. Nelson met the rebels, under Gen. Williams, at Piketon, Pike County, Ky., on Friday last
and gained a glorious victory. Col. Luke Moore attacked the rebels in the rear with 3,800 men, while Col. Harris falling back and Col. Moore pressing forward, until the enemy were brought into the midst of Gen. Nelson's Brigade when our forces pressed them on all sides, killing four hundred of them and taking a thousand prisoners.
