John Sexton Murdered

OLD KENTUCKY FEUD BREAKS OUT

The French-Eversole War Revived by the Sexton Murder
June 14,1895

Barboursville, Kentucky
The French-Eversole war has again broken out in Perry county, at Hazard, and excitement is now at fever heat. John Sexton, one of the leaders on the Eversole said and a son-in-law of the late Judge J.H. Combs was assassinated at his home, in the suburbs of Hazard, last Friday by his enemies, the French Faction.

As Sexton was an important witness in the Fields Adkins murder case against the French gang, he has
since been a marked man and has only narrowly escaped several times from the fate he met last Friday.
