Memories
of
Rosetta
VanHoose Castle

My
Grandmother Castle, was
best remembered for her
cooking.
She made the best fried
potatoes, fried chicken,
milk gravy
chicken and dumplings
and mince meat pies that
I ever ate.
She always kept a batch
of corn meal batter
mixed up and in
the frig. for making the
best fried corn bread at
any time.
She
always had a sweet smell
about her and the smell
was all
though the house as
well, it was the smell
of her special face
soap.
She always had
every hair in place, and
always dressed
nice. She kept her house
neat as a pen.
She
was very loyal to her
family, and if you were
related to her
you had a roof over your
head and a place to
sleep. She
never turned anyone away
if they were family, relatives
stayed
with her from time to
time if they fell on
hard times. She loved
her family very much.
She
was religious and almost
never missed church
where
she attended at the
Freewill Baptist Church
at Estill, Kentucky.
