Scott Martin, Aged Wayland Resident, Is
Victim At Hazard
Walter Scott Martin, 75, of Wayland, succumbed to
a heart condition at Hazard, Saturday at 6:pm., at the home of a son Shirley R
Martin. He had been in ill health three years.
Mr. Martin, well-known and life long resident of
this county, was a son of Marion and Caroline Mayo Martin. His wife Ellen Cox
Martin, survives.
Surviving besides Shirley Martin, are 13 other
sons and daughters, Edward J. Martin, Battle Creek Mich,; George P Martin, and
Mrs. Jessie Lee Webb, both of Hamilton, Ohio; Eugene Martin, Walter Martin
Jr., Blaine C. Martin all of Lyndon, Ohio; Ben Martin, Richmond Ky; Mrs.
Phyllis Lockhart, Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mrs. Virginia Pack, and Mrs. Myrtle
Herigon, both of North Tonawanda, N.Y.; Mrs. Jeanette Beverly, of Wayland,
Mrs. Beatrice Honshell, of Battle Creek, Mich, and Mrs. Anna Williams of
Wayland, Brothers and Sisters surviving are Lee and Earl Martin, both of
Wayland, Mrs. Minnie Flanery and Mrs. Jennie Martin, both of Allen.
Funeral rites were conducted from the Stonecoal Regular Baptist church,
at 10 a.m. Tuesday, the Revs. Sherman Slone, M. C. Wright and Francis Hubbard
officiating. Burial was made in the Martin Cemetery
at
Wayland under the direction of Hall Brothers Funeral home.
